Jawaharlal Nehru College (JLN) – Fee Concessions and Scholarships

At JLN, the Fee Concessions Committee, constituted by the Principal, is responsible for handling all requests related to fee subsidies, concessions, or waivers, excluding candidates covered under the following Government Scholarship Schemes:


Government Scholarships Available

  • Madhya Pradesh Government Scholarships
    For students who are residents of Madhya Pradesh, belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Minority communities, as notified by the Tribal Welfare Department.

  • Scholarships from Other States
    For SC, ST, and OBC students who are residents of states other than M.P.

  • Gaon Ki Beti Yojana
    Designed to encourage meritorious girl students from rural areas. Offered by the Government of M.P. and the Department of Higher Education.

  • Vikramaditya Scholarship
    For eligible male students, as per applicable rules and regulations.

  • Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chatra Yojana
    Offered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh for meritorious students who have passed Class 12 with at least 70% (MP Board) or 85% (CBSE/ICSE).

  • College-Conducted Scholarships and Assistance

    • JLN Management / Alumni Welfare Fund: Offers tuition fee concessions to students from economically weaker backgrounds.

    • DB Scholarship: Available to 10 students from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).


Fee Concession / Waiver Guidelines (Non-Government Schemes)

For students not eligible under the government schemes listed above:

  • Applications for fee concession must be submitted through the student’s MIS account along with the required documents, no later than 30th September 2024.

  • Students enrolled in Honours / BBA programs or those with ATKT / Failed status are not eligible for this concession.

Process Overview

  • The Fee Concessions Committee will meet once a year or on a need basis to assess submitted applications.

  • Based on merit and financial background, the committee will make recommendations to the Principal.

  • The percentage of concession may vary and is not guaranteed to continue in subsequent years.

  • The Principal’s decision is final, based on the committee's recommendation and available financial resources.


Documents Required (Checklist)

Applicants must attach self-attested copies of the following documents:

  • Marksheet of the previous academic year

  • Address Proof

  • Any one or more of the following income proofs:

    • Income Tax Return

    • Land records

    • Annual estimated income certificate

    • Salary certificate from employer

    • BPL Card

  • Medical Certificate (in case of parental unemployment due to illness)

  • Minority Certificate (if applicable)

  • PH Certificate (for differently abled / physically handicapped students)

  • Certificates for Extra-Curricular Achievements (if any)

  • Proof of any existing scholarship, grant, or concession

  • A brief statement of reason for requesting fee subsidy
